
The 24-bit sample looks incredibly smooth and has superior resolution, but the 16-bit example always reproduces an initial wave or other ignal in a bumpy, jagged manner.
While there is really no difference in noise between the two bit depths, 24-bit audio is preferable for audio editing in studios. Audio tart to di tort at louder volume. A greater dynamic range allows the audio to be played at higher volumes before distortion kicks in. In that regard, 24-bit audio is ideal for editing.
