Still, praise is due! In the final days of the QS College and University Rankings 2021, PolyU has jumped 16 places to rank 75th in the world! Next, I will talk about my real feelings about studying at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University from the aspects of the school's learning environment, faculty, infrastructure and so on! In fact, I chose to study in Hong Kong because I have always felt that you are not only choosing a school to study, but also choosing which city to live in. I like the cultural atmosphere of Hong Kong very much, and the collision of retro and avant-garde makes me feel very wonderful.Gen. T List And PolyU's red walls have fulfilled all my fantasies about a university!
1. School environment and infrastructure
When I first heard that PolyU has a small campus, Design talent awardI was a little concerned. Later, I learned that some schools still need to climb mountains to go to school, and I found that Polyu is really sweet!
As we all know, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University of Science and Technology China is located in Hung Hom, with a very good geographical and spatial location, surrounded by the Science Museum Museum and close to the online shopping malls such as Harbour City. And it is super convenient for transportation, the subway station is directly connected with the school, and the school gate is a bus stop. The most important thing is that there can be a lot of delicious food nearby!! (Welcome all of us to play!)
On campus, PolyU has two main traditional dining halls (VA and Wen Kang), which also have a wide variety of dishes, so you won't get tired of eating the same thing for a week! In addition, there are many small restaurants such as tea houses, American restaurants and Starbucks. Oh, and students can get 30% off Starbucks! (Rounding equals no money!)
Secondly, the facilities of the school are really good! Needless to say, the University of Science and Technology library has a large number of seats, and the separation of discussion rooms and study rooms is also very reasonable, and the learning and discussion environment is very good! Anyway, I love going to the library! But the air conditioning in the library is really good
If you are like me and want to play in a band or practice on your own, Polyu has free music classrooms that provide basic instruments and stereo sound that you can use. If you apply, you just need to make an appointment on the website in advance, super convenient!
Another point is that the school counseling room is a really good resource that many people may overlook. At the orientation meeting, I got to know a teacher in the psychological counseling room of the school, participated in a related activity, and truly felt what it means to pay attention to the mental health of students. They are not simple psychologists and you can't go to them unless you have a psychological problem. For PolyU, academic work is important, but the cultivation of students' mentality cannot be ignored.

2. Learning atmosphere and teaching staff
Take our Department of Chinese Culture as an example. Our college invites famous professors from various universities to offer professional courses every year! And although we are learning Chinese culture, there are foreign professors from the Netherlands and the United States, listening to their fluent Chinese, I really feel inferior! Professors usually have their own research and papers to write in addition to teaching, so teachers are always learning new things and progressing with us.
In addition, different colleges will have different management models. For example, in our Department of Chinese Culture, the college has set up a mini library to facilitate students of this major to find information. In addition, each student card also has 500 HKD printing fee, other departments do not seem to have! (Laughter)
In addition to the relevant professional courses, the school also attaches great importance to our field trips. Last term, our teachers showed us around the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, Tai O Fishing Village, West Kowloon Xiqu Centre and so on. Looking back now, it really feels like a spring outing when I was a child!

3. How students feel about their year at PolyU
In fact, as a class of 19 that is considered to be the "worst class in history", I have become accustomed to being "greeted" by everyone for this year's study.
As we all know, due to last year's unrest and this year's epidemic, our study time in autumn 2019 is very realistic, probably just over two months. But I still want to say: First of all, the outbreak of unrest was mainly focused on the end of the last semester, in fact, the impact on the whole semester of classes was not very big, although the school was destroyed really let us feel sad (wipe tears). Polyu is also actively organizing online teaching, and we started our second semester at the end of February anyway.
What's more, not one of the problems of homework pressure has been reduced because of online courses. For example, I majored in Chinese corporate culture education, and you can also refer to and analyze our assignments and papers (as shown in the figure below), and online courses have increased the difficulty of making presentation. It tests the ability of each of us to collect relevant information consciously and independently. Although we need to temporarily unable to fully enjoy a lot of social resources on campus, but from a certain economic point of view, we in the "special" study and work environment, learning not only the knowledge in the classroom, but also a variety of other management abilities!
Honestly, the year has gone by really fast. I have been studying in Hong Kong since last August and will soon graduate. He left Hong Kong for various reasons and returned to Hong Kong for various reasons. I think my biggest regret this year is not getting to know Hong Kong better. There are still many places I have not been and many delicious foods I have not eaten, but I am still very happy that last year, I made the decision to study at PolyU.
